Easter Egg Hunt

Candy Donations Needed

The PTO will be doing the Easter egg hunt this year and is looking for candy donations for to put in the eggs.  Please have any donations to school by March 22nd. 
The Easter egg hunt will be on March 28th from 2:30-3:20. 
Volunteers are also needed on March 28th from 2:00-3:30.

March 4, 2013 Meeting

March 4th was the last PTO meeting.  At that meeting we discussed some of our upcoming fundraisers.

The date of March 28th was verified for the Easter Egg Hunt.  PTO will send home a letter asking for donations of candy and will set up for the Easter Egg Hunt this year.

The spring bulb sale will be held April 22-May 3rd.  Information on this will be sent home with the students as the date nears.

Incentives were also discussed for gaining more participation from all students in the collection of Labels/Boxtops.

Feb 4th Meeting

Feb 4th was the last PTO meeting and we discussed options for spring fundraisers.  We have 3 fundraisers in planning stages that will be coming up.

1. We plan to have another Market Day pie sale in March, these have been very successful in the past.  The students really enjoy the chance to throw a pie at a teacher and the last one was a big hit.
2. We plan to try a spring bulb sale this April.  For all you gardeners or anyone wanting to give it a try this is a chance to order some bulbs for spring planting and also help raise money for the PTO.
3. We would like to have a Pizza Hut coupon night.  With this fundraiser we will give out coupons and they will be good for one night at Pizza Hut.  PTO will then receive a portion of any sales where the coupon is used that night.  We are excited to try this, but do not have a date set as of yet.

PTO will be coordinating the Easter egg hunt this year.  Details are being worked out for the upcoming event.

Hyvee coupon books are still available for purchase.  The cost is $5 and the first coupon in the book is a $5 off a $75 purchase coupon.

PTO December Update

This week the PTO donated candy bars for Santa to give the children after the Lostant School Christmas program.  PTO also donated a gift to Santa as an appreciation for taking time out of his busy schedule to visit our school.  As always the children were very excited to see Santa and tell him what they were hoping for this Christmas.

So far the PTO has sold 38 Hyvee Coupon books and 30 more books were taken by PTO members to sell.  If you are interested in purchasing one of our books please let us know.  We will also be selling the books at two more games in January, the dates are still being determined.

Our mission is to unite parents and teachers to provide a better learning environment for our young students.  Lostant PTO offers many exciting opportunities throughout the year to help raise money for items that may not otherwise be purchased for the school.  In the past we have raised money to donate to the school for iPads, online teaching resources, teacher appreciation gifts, field trips, and a fun field day for the children at the end of the year.  See our PTO calendar for the dates of our meetings and know you are welcome to come join the PTO at any time.
